This is the Mom again.
I talked to Angela after hearing from several of you regarding the one kittten with the poor leg development. I told her that passive physical therapy was suggested and showed her what was being discussed. I also told her to give kitteh some time as they were only a few days old and lots of things could change. I did not yet show her the video of Charley. I figured I'd save that for later, once I knew how receptive she'd be.
Well, one week later, I'm happy to report that Brownie (as they're tentatively calling her... at least we think it's female) is definitely looking better. The rear legs still look longer than the rest of the litter, but they are approaching a normal shape. Angela says she's been exercising her twice a day when Mommacat goes outside for a stretch.
Angela's still planning on adopting out all of the kittens and not keeping any, and she thinks she has homes lined up already for three. I've already been told that I'm not allowed to bring home any more cats... my family's threatening to call me the Crazy Cat Lady as it is! :D
Thank you all again for your advice and input!

Advice needed for a cat momma
Hey gang, this is the Hoomanmomma posting. I need your help... actually, my babysitter needs your help.
Her cat just gave birth to her first litter of kittens last night. 5 little cuties. Unfortunately, one of them seems to be lame. Both back legs are extremely limp and bend funny at the ankle - backwards with very curled toes. Kitty is able to exert pressure with its hinds in response to touch - for example, if I hold baby in one hand and lightly push against its hinds with the other, it can push back. It can't straighten out its paws on its own, though, and can't get them under it well enough to ambulate. It is eating well and Momma isn't showing signs yet of rejecting it.
Hoomanmomma wants to know what she should do with this one. She likes this one best because of its coloring (practically a Garfield in a litter full of torties from a tri-color momma) but is worried about what kind of life, if any, this kit can have.
IS there any chance this kit will develop the back leg strength it needs? Is there something they can do to help it?
Thank you all ever so much!!!

Important News Updates

It's an understatement to stay it's been a furry stressful week for some! Oreo's family is grieving the loss of Uncle Danny who has been on our prayer list for a while now. Please be sure to stop by and leave them a comment. Sophia posted a beautiful poem for them on the Cat Blogosphere. (Sophia posted about her Uncle Mark's birthday party. Check out the pictuers!!) Mom Robyn of HotMBC had to go to the hospital because her meds gave her an allergic reaction and made her legs jumpy. She's okay though and didn't even have to stay in the hospital. Millie just had her 1st birthday! WOW!! Seems like yesterday we were all banding together to help Malcolm save her and take care of her! Beau's mom has a birthday Saturday of next week, and Timmy's mom has a birthday also this month. Due to Oreo's loss we are respectfully postponing the voting of the new logo temporarily to give them a chance to grieve. Also, so that HotMBC family can tend to Mom Robyn and make sure she's okay. For those of you travelling over the holiday weekend, have a safe trip! Happy Easter, and to our Jewish friends we hope you had a blessed Passover! More news to come, so check by later! Love, Beau
