UPDATE: Bear died at 12:15 am in her Mommie ML’s arms. There is a special post for ML and Bear here, on the Pet Prayer & Praise blog.

Joaquin (tuxie, and sib of Sophia diva kitty) has gone to the bridge. Be sure to go by and leave them a message!
Gizzy seems to have lost the will to live; he may have to be helped to the Bridge next week

Scooby's guinea pig, Eddie, is not good either. His mom states. "Could you please add 2 year old guinea pig Eddie to those needing prayers? He has suddenly become paralyzed in his back legs(possible stroke? ) and can only drag himself around in his cage. He lays in his excrement because he can’t stand up to poop like a healthy pig. He is still bright eyed and has an appetite so I am watching him to determine his quality of life.. I need to bathe him daily to remove the poop from his fur and clean his cage twice daily to remove the smelly poo & pee. I don’t know how far I should go with this. It’s been going on for about 6 weeks now. As long as I am willing to clean up after him and he seems to not be suffering (ie: not in pain) I can’t bear to put him down, but he can’t speak for himself and he really smells and I need to pray for guidance. If he is healthy otherwise, he could live 3-4 more years. Is he living a life that is good for him?????Please Lord, let me make a right decision. Lynne"

I don't know if this will help, but I had a guinea pig that had the same symptoms and it was caused from a lack of vitamin C. I got liquid vitamin C drops from the pet store and mixed a strong solution in his water. It took a few days, but he recovered. Just a thought.

Hi Brenda! I thought it might be the Vit. C issue too. I've had 12 guinea pigs over the last 10 years, most of them ones that just needed a home.
I had one litle girl who lost use of her back legs and the vet gave her a massive dose of vit c via shot. She recovered pertty well. I tried to increse the dose for Eddie, but no response. I found a few days later a strange looking worm like thing stuck to his body when bathing him one night and it looks like it may have been a parasitic infection of some kind. I still have 2 females and the are fine. Thanks for your message!!!
